Summer has officially begun!
Every year, celebrating Canada Day has always been the unofficial start to the summer season. This year was no different.
The students were just shy of 5 days into summer vacation when the Canada Day long weekend rolled around, and you could tell they were excited. Many of our demo team was unable to make the Canada Day performance as they were off spending well-deserved quality time with their families. However, those who did, put on three excellent performances.
Shoutout to Abagael Harvie, Zachary Harvie, Vincent Meh, Kenneth Yeung, and Vladimir Varin for representing CSMA at the KRC hill on Canada Day.
We were fortunate enough to avoid the rain for the each of the demonstrations, however that meant our martial artists pushing through the sweat, and blistering heat (literally) on their feet, to show off what they’ve got.
We have located a video of the final demonstration for the day, where they students pushed through a light sprinkle, (About 1.5 hrs ahead of the waterfall Kanata received that day), and they did a fantastic job!

We finished off the day singing Happy Birthday to the newest member of the CSMA staff, Hayley Barr! If you missed it make sure to wish her a happy belated birthday this week.
In other news, the new schedule is officially ACTIVE. So be sure to double-check your class times prior to coming in to make sure you’re not waiting around for too long, or coming too late! There are going to be a lot of fresh faces around the school in the coming weeks, so be sure to arrive early, and put your shoes on the shelves!!!
Lastly, the Renshi’s are off to the Martial Arts Super Show in Las Vegas this week! They’re excited to learn a lot, to continue to help the school improve. On top of that…meeting a few celebrities wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
